  1. 2026 Primary Filing Dates

    1. Tuesday, September 9, 2025 - First day to file for a place on the primary ballot for precinct chairs.
       

    2. Saturday, November 8, 2025 - First day to file for all other candidates for offices that are regularly scheduled to be on the primary ballot; including county chairs.
       

    3. Monday, December 8, 2025 @ 6:00 p.m. - Filing deadline for primary candidates. 
       

    4. Tuesday, March 3, 2026 - Primary Election Day

Texas Ethics Commission

Filers who run for and/or hold statewide offices and multi-county offices that may include Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, Railroad Commissioner, Land Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, State Chair of political party, Texas Senate, Texas House of Representatives, Multi-county District Attorney, State Board of Education, Supreme Court Justice, Court of Appeals Justice, Court of Criminal Appeals Judge, and district judges must file with the Texas Ethics Commission. You are a filer type COH, JCOH or SCCOH.
